A George III sterling silver teapot,
London 1785 by John Hutson
Of oval shape, standing on a flat base. The smooth body with ribbon engraving to the upper rim and the bottom. The subtly domed lid is fitted with a flush hinged cover with a frieze of geometrical ornaments to the rim. The cover retains the detachable baluster finial, securing to the interior with a screw fitting. The tubular spout tapering to the tip. The handle as well as the knob made of ebony.
This Georgian solid silver teapot is a very good gauge of silver and in excellent presentation condition. The decoration is still very clear to every part. The hinge is in notable good order, the whole teapot shows no repair and no damage.
