A large Art Déco sterling silver bowl,
Copenhagen 1931 by Evald Nielsen
This fine vintage Danish sterling silver fruit bowl has a plain circular form in the Art Déco style. The cylindrical stepped base is surmounted with a bell shaped bowl with a flared rim and stands on two friezes of moulded leaves. The surface of the whole bowl is covered with a subtle martelé.
The foot is detachable for cleaning. Due to the good size it may also be used as a champagne or wine cooler. The hallmarks struck to the underside of the base are all clear.
