A very rare fish platter with mazarine #206,
Copenhagen 1919 by Georg Jensen
The elongated, oval shape hand chased and decorated with finely embossed floral decoration to the rim. The flowers are surrounded by a continuous stem which also forms the outer edge. The insert is adorned with central, star-like decoration and decorative piercings. In order to increase practicality, two ring-shaped rings were connected to the insert by a stylised shell decoration.
Extremely rare, early fish platter with its mazarine #206, designed by Georg Jensen in 1918, executed by Georg Jensen silversmithy during his lifetime. The object dates from the following year of his design and is therefore one of the first pieces to be made. The excellent preservation of the original surface also deserves special emphasis, as can be seen in the untouched decoration and the fine martelé.
