The pear-shaped body, characteristic of the mid-18th century, standing on a moulded foot, the handle with a leaf tendril as a thumb rest.
A massive and very impressive beer mug in solid sterling silver in excellent, completely undamaged condition with a beautifully preserved original surface. In addition to the rare size – and the resulting highly practical capacity – this mug benefits from the fact that it was never monogrammed or inscribed in any other way.

The maker´s mark of John Wirgman was entered at 13th May, 1751 as a largeworker.
