Item number: 58292
An 830 grade silver very large serving spoon,
in “Butterfly” pattern Copenhagen 1920
The front side with a subtle martelé also to the oval bowl, the spreading stem adorned with a butterfly.
Rare serving spoon in “Butterfly” pattern in excellent condition.
The danish “Butterfly” cutlery was produced in small quantities only, also by Frigast and is today one of the most sought-after cutleries of the Art Nouveau period. This is not least because neither the designer nor the first silversmith of the “Butterfly” cutlery can be clearly identified still today. The hammered surface as well as the butterfly pattern are in excellent condition and not overpolished in any way. Without monogram. The spoon shown in the third picture to the right can be found in our other offers. The coin and the spoon on the right do not form part of the offer but only serve to clarify the dimensions.
