A fine George III sterling silver tea caddy,
London 1787 by Henry Chawner

Polygonal body with subtle engraved garland-shaped decoration. The upper and lower edges are decorated with a continuous frieze on a matt background. Empty monogram section on both the front and back. The engraved frieze on the lid edge follows the contours of the wall edges, with the lid rising slightly towards the centre and topped with a green pineapple finial.
A very elegant Georgian sterling silver tea caddy with very well-preserved engraved decoration and original surface, skilfully crafted in Henry Chawner’s characteristic precision.
