A silver sugar box

An 812.5 grade silver sugar box
Germany circa 1840/50

Of square form, the body and the lid with fluted decoration of different width to all sides. The upper rim subdivided by two lines. Traces of original gilding to the inner side, original lock.

An exceptional work of a certain modernity from the first half of the nineteenth century which shows the great influence of classcist works for the creations of the Art Déco style and the progressive works of the Wiener Werkstätte in particular. The item is in good, original condition without repairs or damages. Minor signs of use due to age only.
