An unusual sterling silver platter for cheese or sweetmeats
An unusual sterling silver platter with handle
Birmingham 1938 by S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd.
The circular shaped body worked as a spherically truncated sphere, standing on a bent foot sheet to the front and on the foot part of the geometrical shaped handle at the back.
A very unusual platter from the Art Déco era of a minimalistic and modern shape. It perfectly fits to the contemporary cutlery designs as for example to the following Pyramid cheese knive.
22.7 cm / 8.9″ diameter, 2.5 cm / 0,9″ tall to the rim, 7.6 cm / 2.9″ tall to he handle; 443 g / 15.6 oz
