A fine set of sterling silver and walnut “Landscape Boxes”

A sterling silver and walnut set of three “Landscape Boxes”
Edinburgh 2017 by Hamish Dobbie

The cuboid base worked in walnut and closed by strongly sculptural detachable lids worked as naturalistic rock formations. The three boxes form a continuous mountain range.
Extremely unusual and imaginative work in masterful craftsmanship.

Hamish Dobbie as a young and highly talented silversmith designs and creates works in his workshop in Glasgow that combine traditional craftsmanship and digital design. The artist is inspired by the austere, rough landscape of Scotland, the forms and textures of which find their way into his works. His work has received numerous awards and is represented in several public and private collections, including The Pearson Collection and the National Museum of Scotland.
