London 1790 by William Sutton
Circular form with four flared bracket feet decorated with line profiles, the rim with thread moulding. The unembellished centre with engraved contemporary coat of arms of a British noble family.
An excellently crafted and large sized 18th century sterling silver tray of a simple and almost modern elegance in fine preservation of the old surface with no repairs. This salver was in the possession of a gentleman who descended from the Jeffreys family, of Little Bursted in the County of Essex.
