A rare set of five 830 grade silver “Butterfly” cake forks

Item number: 58304

A rare set of five 830 grade silver cake forks in “Butterfly” pattern,
Copenhagen 1931

The front side with a subtle martelé, the spreading stem adorned with a butterfly. A rare set of five cake forks in “Butterfly” decoration in excellent condition.

The danish “Butterfly” silver cutlery was produced in small quantities only, also by Frigast and is today one of the most sought-after cutleries of the Art Nouveau period. This is not least because neither the designer nor the first silversmith of the butterfly cutlery can be clearly identified. The hammered surface as well as the butterfly pattern are in excellent condition and not overpolished in any way. Without monogram.
