A George III sterling silver tea caddy
London 1787 by John Wakelin & William Taylor

Octagonal shape, the upper and lower edges decorated with an antique meander frieze on a matted ground. Engraved to the front with a monogram cartouche showing a family crest in the form of a stag’s head. The plane lid decorated to the rim in analogy to the outer wall and crowned with a baluster-shaped knob.
