George III sterling silver drum-shaped teapot,
London 1777 by Charles Aldridge & Henry Green

Cylindrical body with tapering tubular spout to the front and handle on the back, the body decorated with engraved band decoration to the top and bottom. The upper section is flat and decorated with corresponding engraved decoration to the rim and a central ray motif. The flat knob to the centreas well as the handle made of ivory.

This type of teapot was only fashionable in England for a short period and can usually only be traced between 1770 and 1780. These teapots almost always had a capacity of less than one litre.
